L'envoy Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDEFGE

Now in a thought now in a shadowed wordA
Now in a voice that thrills eternityB
Ever there comes an onward phrase to meB
Of some transcendent music I have heardA
No piteous thing by soft hands dulcimeredA
No trumpet crash of blood sick victoryB
But a glad strain of some vast harmonyB
That no brief mortal touch has ever stirredA
There is no music in the world like thisC
No character wherewith to set it downD
No kind of instrument to make it singE
No kind of instrument Ah yes there isF
And after time and place are overthrownG
God s touch will keep its one chord quiveringE
