Job The Rejected Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDEECD

They met and overwhelming her distrustA
With penitence he praised away her fearB
They married and Job gave him half a yearB
To wreck the temple as we knew he mustA
He fumbled hungrily to readjustA
A fallen altar but the road was clearB
By which it was her will to disappearB
That evening when Job found him in the dustA
-
Job would have deprecated such a wayC
Of heaving fuel on a sacred fireD
Yet even the while we saw it going outE
Hardly was Job to find his hour to shoutE
And Job was not so far as we could sayC
The confirmation of her soul's desireD
