Demos Ii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACBA DCCECE

So little have you seen of what awaitsA
Your fevered glimpse of a democracyB
Confused and foiled with an equalityB
Not equal to the envy it createsA
That you see not how near you are the gatesA
Of an old king who listens fearfullyC
To you that are outside and are to beB
The noisy lords of imminent estatesA
-
Rather be then your prayer that you shall haveD
Your kingdom undishonored Having allC
See not the great among you for the smallC
But hear their silence for the few shall saveE
The many or the many are to fallC
Still to be wrangling in a noisy graveE
