An Evangelist's Wife Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFGF HH

Why am I not myself these many daysA
You ask And have you nothing more to askB
I do you wrong I do not hear your praiseA
To God for giving you me to share your taskB
-
Jealous of Her Because her cheeks are pinkC
And she has eyes No not if she had sevenD
If you should only steal an hour to thinkC
Sometime there might be less to be forgivenD
-
No you are never cruel If once or twiceE
I found you so I could applaud and singF
Jealous of What You are not very wiseG
Does not the good Book tell you anythingF
-
In David s time poor Michal had to goH
Jealous of God Well if you like it soH
