When First I Came Here Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDED FGHI JKLK KMKM KNKN

WHEN first I came here I had hopeA
Hope for I knew not what Fast beatB
My heart at the sight of the tall slopeA
Or grass and yews as if my feetB
-
Only by scaling its steps of chalkC
Would see something no other hillD
Ever disclosed And now I walkE
Down it the last time Never willD
-
My heart beat so again at sightF
Of any hill although as fairG
And loftier For infiniteH
The change late unperceived this yearI
-
The twelfth suddenly shows me plainJ
Hope now not health nor cheerfulnessK
Since they can come and go againL
As often one brief hour witnessesK
-
Just hope has gone forever PerhapsK
I may love other hills yet moreM
Than this the future and the mapsK
Hide something I was waiting forM
-
One thing I know that love with chanceK
And use and time and necessityN
Will grow and louder the heart's danceK
At parting than at meeting beN
