The New House Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHDH IDJD

NOW first as I shut the doorA
I was aloneB
In the new house and the windC
Began to moanB
-
Old at once was the houseD
And I was oldE
My ears were teased with the dreadF
Of what was foretoldE
-
Nights of storm days of mist without endG
Sad days when the sunH
Shone in vain old griefs and griefsD
Not yest begunH
-
All was foretold me naughtI
Could I foreseeD
But I learnt how the wind would soundJ
After these things should beD
