The Barn And The Down Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFG HIJI CKLK AMKM CNBO

t stood in the sunset skyA
Like the straight backed downB
Many a time the barnC
At the edge of townB
-
So huge and dark that it seemedD
It was the hillE
Till the gable's precipice provedF
It impossibleG
-
Then the great down in the westH
Grew into sightI
A barn stored full to the ridgeJ
With black of nightI
-
And the barn fell to a barnC
Or even lessK
Before critical eyes and its ownL
Late mightinessK
-
But far down and near barn and IA
Since then have smiledM
Having seen my new cautiousnessK
By itself beguiledM
-
To disdain what seemed the barnC
Till a few steps changedN
It past all doubt to the downB
So the barn was avengedO
