But These Things Also Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGF HIJK LMNO

But these things also are Spring'sA
On banks by the roadside the grassB
Long dead that is greyer nowC
Than all the Winter it wasD
-
The shell of a little snail bleachedE
In the grass chip of flint and miteF
Of chalk and the small birds' dungG
In splashes of purest whiteF
-
All the white things a man mistakesH
For earliest violetsI
Who seeks through Winter's ruinsJ
Something to pay Winter's debtsK
-
While the North blows and starling flocksL
By chattering on and onM
Keep their spirits up in the mistN
And Spring's here Winter's not goneO
