Birds' Nests Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIJ KLML

he summer nests uncovered by autumn windA
Some torn others dislodged all darkB
Everyone sees them low or high in treeC
Or hedge or single bush they hang like a markB
-
Since there's no need of eyes to see them withD
I cannot help a little shameE
That I missed most even at eye's level tillF
The leaves blew off and made the seeing no gameE
-
'Tis a light pang I like to see the nestsG
Still in their places now first knownH
At home and by far roads Boys knew them notI
Whatever jays and squirrels may have doneJ
-
And most I like the winter nests deep hidK
That leaves and berries fell intoL
Once a dormouse dined there on hazel nutsM
And grass and goose grass seeds found soil and grewL
