And You, Helen Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGHIIJJKK LLAnd you Helen what should I give you | A |
So many things I would give you | A |
Had I an infinite great store | B |
Offered me and I stood before | B |
To choose I would give you youth | C |
All kinds of loveliness and truth | C |
A clear eye as good as mine | D |
Lands waters flowers wine | D |
As many children as your heart | E |
Might wish for a far better art | E |
Than mine can be all you have lost | F |
Upon the travelling waters tossed | F |
Or given to me If I could choose | G |
Freely in that great treasure house | H |
Anything from any shelf | I |
I would give you back yourself | I |
And power to discriminate | J |
What you want and want it not too late | J |
Many fair days free from care | K |
And heart to enjoy both foul and fair | K |
And myself too if I could find | L |
Where it lay hidden and it proved kind | L |
