A Cat Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGF FHIH

She had a name among the childrenA
But no one loved though someone ownedB
Her locked her out of doors at bedtimeC
And had her kittens duly drownedD
-
In Spring nevertheless this catE
Ate blackbirds thrushes nightingalesF
And birds of bright voice and plume and flightG
As well as scraps from neighbours pailsF
-
I loathed and hated her for thisF
One speckle on a thrush s breastH
Was worth a million such and yetI
She lived long till God gave her restH
