Spring In War-time Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGFG HIHI

Now the sprinkled blackthorn snowA
Lies along the lover s laneB
Where last year we used to goA
Where we shall not go againC
-
In the hedge the buds are newD
By our wood the violets peerE
Just like last year s violets tooD
But they have no scent this yearE
-
Every bird has heart to singF
Of its nest warmed by its breastG
We had heart to sing last springF
But we never built our nestG
-
Presently red roses blownH
Will make all the garden gayI
Not yet have the daisies grownH
On your clayI
