Mrs. George Reece Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGGGHIJKL

To this generation I would sayA
Memorize some bit of verse of truth or beautyB
It may serve a turn in your lifeC
My husband had nothing to doD
With the fall of the bank he was only cashierE
The wreck was due to the president Thomas RhodesF
And his vain unscrupulous sonG
Yet my husband was sent to prisonG
And I was left with the childrenG
To feed and clothe and school themH
And I did it and sent them forthI
Into the world all clean and strongJ
And all through the wisdom of Pope the poetK
Act well your part there all the honor liesL
