little treeA
little silent Christmas treeA
you are so littleB
you are more like a flowerC
-
who found you in the green forestD
and were you very sorry to come awayE
see i will comfort youF
because you smell so sweetlyA
-
i will kiss your cool barkG
and hug you safe and tightH
just as your mother wouldI
only don't be afraidJ
-
look the spanglesK
that sleep all the year in a dark boxK
dreaming of being taken out and allowed to shineL
the balls the chains red and gold the fluffy threadsK
-
put up your little armsK
and i'll give them all to you to holdM
every finger shall have its ringN
and there won't be a single place dark or unhappyA
-
then when you're quite dressedO
you'll stand in the window for everyone to seeA
and how they'll stareP
oh but you'll be very proudQ
-
and my little sister and i will take handsK
and looking up at our beautiful treeA
we'll dance and singN
