The Passionate Freudian To His Love Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDDEDFGHG DIJIKLMNOPQP PRDRSDTDUVWV

Only name the day and we'll fly awayA
In the face of old traditionsB
To a sheltered spot by the world forgotC
Where we'll park our inhibitionsB
Come and gaze in eyes where the lovelight liesD
As it psychoanalyzesD
And when once you glean what your fantasies meanE
Life will hold no more surprisesD
When you've told your love what you're thinking ofF
Things will be much more informalG
Through a sunlit land we'll go hand in handH
Drifting gently back to normalG
-
While the pale moon gleams we will dream sweet dreamsD
And I'll win your admirationI
For it's only fair to admit I'm thereJ
With a mean interpretationI
In the sunrise glow we will whisper lowK
Of the scenes our dreams have paintedL
And when you're advised what they symbolizedM
We'll begin to feel acquaintedN
So we'll gaily float in a slumber boatO
Where subconscious waves dash wildlyP
In the stars' soft light we will say good nightQ
And good night will put it mildlyP
-
Our desires shall be from repressions freeP
As it's only right to treat themR
To your ego's whims I will sing sweet hymnsD
And ad libido repeat themR
With your hand in mine idly we'll reclineS
Amid bowers of neurosesD
While the sun seeks rest in the great red westT
We will sit and match psychosesD
So come dwell a while on that distant isleU
In the brilliant tropic weatherV
Where a Freud in need is a Freud indeedW
We'll always be Jung togetherV
