Temps Perdu Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH

I never may turn the loop of a roadA
Where sudden ahead the sea is lyingB
But my heart drags down with an ancient loadA
My heart that a second before was flyingB
-
I never behold the quivering rainC
And sweeter the rain than a lover to meD
But my heart is wild in my breast with painC
My heart that was tapping contentedlyD
-
There's never a rose spreads new at my doorE
Nor a strange bird crosses the moon at nightF
But I know I have known its beauty beforeE
And a terrible sorrow along with the sightF
-
The look of a laurel tree birthed for MayG
Or a sycamore bared for a new NovemberH
Is as old and as sad as my furtherest dayG
What is it what is it I almost rememberH
