Song Of Perfect Propriety Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHGH IJIJKLML NOPOOQOQ

Oh I should like to ride the seasA
A roaring buccaneerB
A cutlass banging at my kneesA
A dirk behind my earB
And when my captives' chains would clankC
I'd howl with glee and drinkD
And then fling out the quivering plankC
And watch the beggars sinkD
-
I'd like to straddle gory decksE
And dig in laden sandsF
And know the feel of throbbing necksE
Between my knotted handsF
Oh I should like to strut and curseG
Among my blackguard crewH
But I am writing little verseG
As little ladies doH
-
Oh I should like to dance and laughI
And pose and preen and swayJ
And rip the hearts of men in halfI
And toss the bits awayJ
I'd like to view the reeling yearsK
Through unastonished eyesL
And dip my finger tips in tearsM
And give my smiles for sighsL
-
I'd stroll beyond the ancient boundsN
And tap at fastened gatesO
And hear the prettiest of soundP
The clink of shattered fatesO
My slaves I'd like to bind with thongsO
That cut and burn and chillQ
But I am writing little songsO
As little ladies willQ
