Paths Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGFG HIHI JKJK

I shall tread another yearA
Ways I walked with GriefB
Past the dry ungarnered earC
And the brittle leafB
-
I shall stand a year apartD
Wondering and shyE
Thinking Here she broke her heartD
Here she pled to dieE
-
I shall hear the pheasants callF
And the raucous geeseG
Down these ways another FallF
I shall walk with PeaceG
-
But the pretty path I trodH
Hand in hand with LoveI
Underfoot the nascent sodH
Brave young boughs aboveI
-
And the stripes of ribbon grassJ
By the curling wayK
I shall never dare to passJ
To my dying dayK
