Nocturne Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EBEBFDFD

Always I knew that it could not lastA
Gathering clouds and the snowflakes flyingB
Now it is part of the golden pastA
Darkening skies and the night wind sighingB
It is but cowardice to pretendC
Cover with ashes our love's cold craterD
Always I've known that it had to endC
Sooner or laterD
-
Always I knew it would come like thisE
Pattering rain and the grasses springingB
Sweeter to you is a new love's kissE
Flickering sunshine and young birds singingB
Gone are the raptures that once we knewF
Now you are finding a new joy greaterD
Well I'll be doing the same thing tooF
Sooner or laterD
