Guinevere At Her Fireside Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GFGF HIHI ABAB

A nobler king had never breathA
I say it now and said it thenB
Who weds with such is wed till deathA
And wedded stays in Heaven AmenB
-
And oh the shirts of linen lawnC
And all the armor tagged and tiedD
And church on Sundays dusk and dawnC
And bed a thing to kneel besideD
-
The bravest one stood tall aboveE
The rest and watched me as a lightF
I heard and heard them talk of loveE
I'd naught to do but think at nightF
-
The bravest man has littlest brainsG
That chalky fool from AstolatF
With all her dying and her painsG
Thank God I helped him over thatF
-
I found him not unfair to seeH
I like a man with peppered hairI
And thus it came about Ah meH
Tristram was busied otherwhereI
-
A nobler king had never breathA
I say it now and said it thenB
Who weds with such is wed till deathA
And wedded stays in Heaven AmenB
