So the little girl heard that nightA
Words of hatred papa utteredB
First gun shot from the bedroomC
More gun shots firedB
So the little girl closed her earsD
-
Tears down the little girl s cheeks flowedE
Too scared to shout for helpF
Papa thoughtlessly shot mama that nightA
Then turned the gun on himselfG
Misinformed was papa by a friendH
-
Tragedy took my papa away from meI
Death stole my papa too soonJ
Grave in cruelty swallowed my papaK
Alas who will help me nowL
-
Papa taught me how to readM
It was papa who taught me how to swimN
Papa watched me play in the gardenO
Papa carried me on his shouldersP
Papa put me to bed every nightA
-
Papa went to the grave earlyI
Grave opened its mouth for my papaK
Earth opened her mouth for papa s bloodQ
Mama now on wheelchair bound she isR
Fighting limitations of disabilityI
No friend available for my mamaK
-
Oh how I wish I could do somethingS
Perhaps a little prayer I should have prayedT
Papa would have been alive todayU
To watch me graduate from varsityI
To walk me down the aisle when I marryI
-
Papa will not see me grow upV
Not sure if papa made it to heavenO
A haste decision papa took that dayU
Shedding blood destroying his lifeW
