Sonnet: The Ghosts Of James And Peirce In Harvard Yard Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDCAEAF GHGHCC

In memory of D W PrallA
-
-
The ghosts of James and Peirce in Harvard YardB
At star pierced midnight after the chapel bellC
Episcopalian palian the ringing soaredD
Stare at me now as if they wish me wellC
In the waking dream amid the trees which fallA
Bar and bough of shadow by my shadow crossedE
They have not slept for long and they know allA
Know time's exhaustion and the spirit's costF
-
We studied the radiant sun the star's pure seedG
Darkness is infinite The blind can seeH
Hatred's necessity and love's grave needG
Now that the poor are murdered across the seaH
And you are ignorant who hear the bellC
Ignorant you walk between heaven and hellC
