Poet's note: Synopsis— "JINGJOP— The Victory Day of Meghalaya" is an original poetry composed by DaOhi Manar. English language have been used to write this poem with the combination of Khasi, Jaiñtia and Garo dialects. This poem reminds us of the year 1972, where India's first woman Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, set foot at Polo Ground in Shillong on January 21, 1972 and officially announced the birth of Meghalaya as a state out of Assam. It also encourage us to live a responsible life and earn righteousness. In general, This poem reminds us to Respect & Preserve our Indigenous Cultures and History. As we hold our flag up high let's remember our ancestors in which in their TENDERNESS we STRIVE and PROSPER.
