Winged Hours Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACBA DEFDGG

Each hour until we meet is as a birdA
That wings from far his gradual way alongB
The rustling covert of my soul his songB
Still loudlier trilled through leaves more deeply stirr'dA
But at the hour of meeting a clear wordA
Is every note he sings in Love's own tongueC
Yet Love thou know'st the sweet strain wrongB
Through our contending kisses oft unheardA
-
What of that hour at last when for her sakeD
No wing may fly to me nor song may flowE
When wandering round my life unleaved IF
The bloodied feathers scattered in the brakeD
And think how she far from me with like eyesG
Sees through the untuneful bough the wingless skiesG
