The Monochord Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CCDEED

Is it this sky's vast vault or ocean's soundA
That is Life's self and draws my life from meB
And by instinct ineffable decreeB
Holds my breath quailing on the bitter boundA
Nay is it Life or Death thus thunder crown'dA
That 'mid the tide of all emergencyB
Now notes my separate wave and to what seaB
Its difficult eddies labour in the groundA
-
Oh what is this that knows the road I cameC
The flame turned cloud the cloud returned to flameC
The lifted shifted steeps and all the wayD
That draws round me at last this wind warm spaceE
And in regenerate rapture turns my faceE
Upon the devious coverts of dismayD
