The Honeysuckle Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCDEAFGHIJJI

I PLUCKED a honeysuckle whereA
The hedge on high is quick with thornB
And climbing for the prize was tornB
And fouled my feet in quag waterC
And by the thorns and by the windD
The blossom that I took was thinn'dE
And yet I found it sweet and fairA
Thence to a richer growth I cameF
Where nursed in mellow intercourseG
The honeysuckles sprang by scoresH
Not harried like my single stemI
All virgin lamps of scent and dewJ
So from my hand that first I threwJ
Yet plucked not any more of themI
