Sonnet Xxii: Heart's Haven Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDDCCE

Sometimes she is a child within mine armsA
Cowering beneath dark wings that love must chaseB
With still tears showering and averted faceB
Inexplicably filled with faint alarmsA
And oft from mine own spirit's hurtling harmsA
I crave the refuge of her deep embraceB
Against all ills the fortified strong placeB
And sweet reserve of sovereign counter charmsA
And Love our light at night and shade at noonC
Lulls us to rest with songs and turns awayD
All shafts of shelterless tumultuous dayD
Like the moon's growth his face gleams through his tuneC
And as soft waters warble to the moonC
Our answering spirits chime one roundelayE
