Sonnet Lxx: The Hill Summit Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACDAEFEFFE

This feast day of the sun his altar thereA
In the broad west has blazed for vesper songB
And I have loitered in the vale too longB
And gaze now a belated worshipperA
Yet may I not forget that I was 'wareA
So journeying of his face at intervalsC
Transfigured where the fringed horizon fallsD
A fiery bush with coruscating hairA
And now that I have climbed and won this heightE
I must tread downward through the sloping shadeF
And travel the bewildered tracks till nightE
Yet for this hour I still may here be stayedF
And see the gold air and the silver fadeF
And the last bird fly into the last lightE
