Sonnet I: Love Enthroned Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDEC

I marked all kindred Powers the heart finds fairA
Truth with awed lips and Hope with eyes upcastB
And Fame whose loud wings fan the ashen PastB
To signal fires Oblivion's flight to scareA
And Youth with still some single golden hairA
Unto his shoulder clinging since the lastB
Embrace wherein two sweet arms held him fastB
And Life still wreathing flowers for Death to wearA
Love's throne was not with these but far aboveC
All passionate wind of welcome and farewellD
He sat in breathless bowers they dream not ofC
Though Truth foreknow Love's heart and Hope foretellD
And Fame be for Love's sake desirableE
And Youth be dear and Life be sweet to LoveC
