Sir Peter Paul Rubens (antwerp) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAADDAEFAFEA

Messieurs le Dieu des peintres We felt oddA
'Twas Rubens sculptured A mean florid churchB
Was the next thing we saw from vane to porchC
His drivel The museum as we trodA
Its steps his bust held us at bay The clodA
Has slosh by miles along the wall withinD
I say I somehow feel my gorge beginD
To rise His chair in a glass case by GodA
To the Cathedral Here too the vile snobE
Has fouled in every corner Wherefore braveF
Our fate Let's go There is a monumentA
We pass Messieurs you tread upon the graveF
Of the great Rubens Well that's one good jobE
What time this evening is the train for GhentA
