LOVE I speak to your heartA
Your heart that is always hereB
Oh draw me deep to its sphereC
Though you and I are apartA
And yield by the spirit's artA
Each distant gift that is dearC
O love my love you are hereB
Your eyes are afar to dayD
Yet love look now in mine eyesE
Two hearts sent forth may despiseE
All dead things by the wayD
All between is decayD
Dead hours and this hour that diesE
O love look deep in mine eyesE
Your hands to day are not hereB
Yet lay them love in my handsF
The hourglass sheds its sandsF
All day for the dead hours' bierB
But now as two hearts draw nearC
This hour like a flower expandsF
O love your hands in my handsF
Your voice is not on the airG
Yet love I can hear your voiceH
It bids my heart to rejoiceH
As knowing your heart is thereG
A music sweet to declareG
The truth of your steadfast choiceH
O love how sweet is your voiceH
To day your lips are afarI
Yet draw my lips to them loveJ
Around beneath and aboveJ
Is frost to bind and to barI
But where I am and you areI
Desire and the fire thereofJ
O kiss me kiss me my loveJ
Your heart is never awayD
But ever with mine for everK
For ever without endeavourK
To morrow love as to dayD
Two blent hearts never astrayD
Two souls no power may severK
Together O my love for everK
