On Leaving Bruges Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAADEAFGHHGI

The city's steeple towers remove awayA
Each singly as each vain infatuate FaithB
Leaves God in heaven and passes A mere breathC
Each soon appears so far Yet that which layA
The first is now scarce further or more greyA
Than the last is Now all are wholly goneD
The sunless sky has not once had the sunE
Since the first weak beginning of the dayA
The air falls back as the wind finishesF
And the clouds stagnate On the water's faceG
The current breathes along but is not stirredH
There is no branch that thrills with any birdH
Winter is to possess the earth a spaceG
And have its will upon the extreme seasI
