Love's Last Gift Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABCA DEEDF

Love to his singer held a glistening leafA
And said 'The rose tree and the apple treeB
Have fruits to vaunt or flowers to lure the beeB
And golden shafts are in the feathered sheafA
Of the great harvest marshal the year's chiefA
Victorious Summer aye and 'neath warm seaB
Strange secret grasses lurk inviolablyC
Between the filtering channels of sunk reefA
-
All are my blooms and all sweet blooms of loveD
To thee I gave while Spring and Summer sangE
But Autumn stops to listen with some pangE
From those worse things the wind is moaning ofD
Only this laurel dreads no winter daysF
Take my last gift thy heart hath sung my praise '-
