Down Stream Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABACDCDAEFGHIHIAJHJ ADADAHAHKIKIALMLNANA

BETWEEN Holmscote and HurstcoteA
The river reaches windA
The whispering trees accept the breezeB
The ripple's cool and kindA
With love low whispered 'twixt the shoresC
With rippling laughters gayD
With white arms bared to ply the oarsC
On last year's first of MayD
Between Holmscote and HurstcoteA
The river's brimmed with rainE
Through close met banks and parted banksF
Now near now far againG
With parting tears caressed to smilesH
With meeting promised soonI
With every sweet vow that beguilesH
On last year's first of JuneI
Between Holmscote and HurstcoteA
The river's flecked with foamJ
'Neath shuddering clouds that hang in shroudsH
And lost winds wild for homeJ
With infant wailings at the breastA
With homeless steps astrayD
With wanderings shuddering tow'rds one restA
On this year's first of MayD
Between Holmscote and HurstcoteA
The summer river flowsH
With doubled flight of moons by nightA
And lilies' deep reposeH
With lo beneath the moon's white stareK
A white face not the moonI
With lilies meshed in tangled hairK
On this year's first of JuneI
Between Holmscote and HurstcoteA
A troth was given and rivenL
From heart's trust grew one life to twoM
Two lost lives cry to HeavenL
With banks spread calm to meet the skyN
With meadows newly mowedA
The harvest paths of glad JulyN
The sweet school children's roadA
