Almost Over Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDECDE

YOU say I should not think upon her nowA
But then I have stood beside her listeningB
And watched her rose breathed lips when she would singB
And I can scarcely yet imagine howA
I ever should despise that stately browA
And flowering breast that is so pure a thingB
Alas for all the weary blood runningB
When from the heart love strives to tear a vowA
And yet perchance even as you tell me soonC
Her spirit of my spirit will leave holdD
And when I hear her tread I shall not blushE
Doubly for love and shame But then the moonC
Assuredly will rise and Sleep shall foldD
Her hair round me and Death will whisper HushE
