The Fan Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBAAAACCDDAAEFAAGG HI

Lovely SemiramisA
Closes her slanting eyesA
Dead is she long agoB
From her fan sliding slowB
Parrot bright fire's feathersA
Gilded as June weathersA
Plumes bright and shrill as grassA
Twinkle down as they passA
Through the green glooms in HellC
Fruits with a tuneful smellC
Grapes like an emerald rainD
Where the full moon has lainD
Greengages bright as grassA
Melons as cold as glassA
Piled on each gilded boothE
Feel their cheeks growing smoothF
Apes in plumed head dressesA
Whence the bright heat hissesA
Nubian faces slyG
Pursing mouth slanting eyeG
Feel the ArabianH
Winds floating from the fanI
