| Yet I believe you | C |
| messengers | D |

| There where the world is turned inside out | E |
| a heavy fabric embroidered with stars and beasts | F |
| you stroll inspecting the trustworthy seems | G |

| Short is your stay here | H |
| now and then at a matinal hour if the sky is clear | I |
| in a melody repeated by a bird | J |
| or in the smell of apples at close of day | K |
| when the light makes the orchards magic | L |

| They say somebody has invented you | C |
| but to me this does not sound convincing | M |
| for the humans invented themselves as well | N |

| The voice no doubt it is a valid proof | O |
| as it can belong only to radiant creatures | D |
| weightless and winged after all why not | P |
| girdled with the lightening | M |

| I have heard that voice many a time when asleep | Q |
| and what is strange I understood more or less | R |
| an order or an appeal in an unearthly tongue | S |
