Encounter Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AB CD EF GHF

We were riding through frozen fields in a wagon at dawnA
A red wing rose in the darknessB
-
And suddenly a hare ran across the roadC
One of us pointed to it with his handD
-
That was long ago Today neither of them is aliveE
Not the hare nor the man who made the gestureF
-
O my love where are they where are they goingG
The flash of a hand streak of movement rustle of pebblesH
I ask not out of sorrow but in wonderF
