At A Certain Age Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHCIEJKLMNC

We wanted to confess our sins but there were no takersA
White clouds refused to accept them and the windB
Was too busy visiting sea after seaC
We did not succeed in interesting the animalsD
Dogs disappointed expected an orderE
A cat as always immoral was falling asleepF
A person seemingly very closeG
Did not care to hear of things long pastH
Conversations with friends over vodka or coffeeC
Ought not be prolonged beyond the first sign of boredomI
It would be humiliating to pay by the hourE
A man with a diploma just for listeningJ
Churches Perhaps churches But to confess there whatK
That we used to see ourselves as handsome and nobleL
Yet later in our place an ugly toadM
Half opens its thick eyelidN
And one sees clearly That's meC
