Rhyme Scheme: ABC DEFG HIJ KLJH

a real man is not an alpha man andA
he doesn't care about lengthB
or muscle massC

the real man means first of all attitudeD
the courage to accept even helplessnessE
and the most important thing he knows loveF
the real oneG

a real man knows how to show a smileH
he knows how to bend down and kiss a weaker handI
and appreciate the power of a flowerJ
-
the easier it seems the more difficult it isK
to control the animal that waits in the shadow of fearsL
to carry the whole earth on your shoulderJ
and yet he has time to smileH

Poet's note: It's hard to get the core, the idea, out of a lot of words. I wrote this poem for myself, a normal man without the pretensions of an alpha man, a man who works, loves and lives. I don't know if I can say it's a short presentation, a label or an excuse for what I'm not.
