Waiting Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCD EFEFGG HIHIJ KGKGLL

Oh how I love the fine old chapA
Who sits upon my left at mealsB
And drops his cabbage in my lapA
From swooping fork while he revealsB
How he at Hay in 'C
Gave Hamlet's grand so lil o queeD
-
He slops his supper beer o' nightsE
Or fills my dexter ear with stoutF
While strenuously he recitesE
And hurls his lanky limbs aboutF
To prove that every modern cussG
Has missed the true PoloniusG
-
His oysters down my back he'll throwH
Or freely spray me with his soupI
When suddenly inspired to showH
How savage Ingomar should whoopI
Or illustrate the proper screamJ
With which to finish 'Denver's Dream '-
-
He throws his turnips everywhereK
With breakfast tea he scalds my legsG
I've spuds and carrots in my hairK
And oft he's smitten me with eggsG
If e'er he shows with humor grimL
I'll throw these things all back at himL
