The Traveller Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBAA CCAADC AAAAAA EBAABE AADDAA

As I rode in to BurrumbeetA
I met a man with funny feetA
And when I paused to ask him whyB
His feet were strange he rolled his eyeB
And said the rain would spoil the wheatA
So I rode on to BurrumbeetA
-
As I rode in to BeetalooC
I met a man whose nose was blueC
And when I asked him how he gotA
A nose like that he answered WhatA
Do bullocks mean when they say 'Moo'D
So I rode on to BeetalooC
-
As I rode in to BallaratA
I met a man who wore no hatA
And when I said he might take coldA
He cried The hills are quite as oldA
As yonder plains but not so flatA
So I rode on to BallaratA
-
As I rode in to GundagaiE
I met a man and passed him byB
Without a nod without a wordA
He turned and said he'd never heardA
Or seen a man so wise as IB
But I rode on to GundagaiE
-
As I rode homeward full of doubtA
I met a stranger riding outA
A foolish man he seemed to meD
But Nay I am yourself said heD
Just as you were when you rode outA
So I rode homeward free of doubtA
