The Satin Bower-bird Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCCB ADADEEED AFAFGGGF AHAHIIIH

Spare a bloom of blue ladyA
To adorn a bowerB
A violet will do ladyA
Any azure flowerB
Since we hold a dance to dayC
We would make our ball room gayC
Where the scented grasses swayC
And the tall trees towerB
-
Beautiful but shy ladyA
Yesterday we cameD
Dropping from the sky ladyA
Flecks of golden flameD
Golden flame and royal blueE
We have come to beg of youE
Any scrap of heaven's hueE
For our dancing gameD
-
Spare us but a leaf ladyA
If our suit be spurnedF
We shall play the thief ladyA
When your back is turnedF
Ravishing your garden plotG
Of the choicest you have gotG
Pansy or forget me notG
Counting it well earnedF
-
Then if some rare chance ladyA
Later should befallH
And you gain a glance ladyA
At our dancing hallH
You will find your blossoms thereI
'Mid our decorations whereI
With a proud patrician airI
We hold the Bushland BallH
