The Martyr Of Bovinia Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDEECC FFGGCC HHIICC

She milked the cow and all the morn was hushedA
It was a beast that never kicked or rushedA
The startled dicky birds of early SpringB
Sat up amazed to mark this splendid thingB
Nigh fainting with delight upon the boughC
She milked the cowC
-
She milked the cow nor all the glory rareD
Of that October morning could compareD
With that sweet sylvan scene the grace the charmE
The rhythmic movement of her dimpled armE
Would make a poor bloke feel just anyhowC
She milked the cowC
-
She milked the cow 'Twas at South SassafrasF
Which is a cruel word to rhyme alasF
And all who gazed thereon decalred with forceG
It was sublime except the cow of courseG
Who wore a patient frown upn her browC
She milked the cowC
-
She milked the cow at least she said she didH
There was the milk in proof and God forbidH
That I should doubt the statement in the leastI
I sympathised in private with the beastI
Who said but still what does it matter nowC
She milked the cowC
