The Kick Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCB DEFGGF AA CCA HH IIJ KKLDDL MMNCC

First I tried a Dry MartiniA
But found not one teeny weenyA
Semblance of a kick in any kind of thisB
Then I sampled a ManhattanC
But 'twas much the same with that 'unC
And as impotent I found an Angel's KissB
-
So I drank the menu thro'D
Side car Bronx and Gin and TwoE
Such innocuous concoctions left me sadF
And I yearned with eager yearningG
For a cocktail sudden burningG
That might give a man a jolt and make him gladF
-
Then a fellow somewhat seedyA
Down at heel and seeming needyA
said 'If it's a kick you're seeking come with me '-
So we went into a gardenC
That to me seemed partly ArdenC
Partly Eden and we sat beneath a treeA
-
Here my friend produced a bottleH
Drew the stopper from its throttleH
And pouring out a nip said 'Drink this quick '-
No least hesitation followedI
I threw back my head and swallowedI
Oh boy Oh res and furies What a kickJ
-
Green lightnings and blue blazesK
Fierce stars in fiery hazesK
Pink elephants that flapped about the skyL
When I woke some five hours laterD
Feeling queer at the equatorD
'Great Scott How do you make that stuff ' said IL
-
'First of all ' he proudly statedM
'Take a pint of methylatedM
Stir in varnish an' some 'air oil just a dropN
Then if pep should still be lackin'C
Add turps an' a tin of blackin'C
Me own invention called the Fitzcray Flop '-
