Who wants a nice white elephantA
Quite fit in wind and limbB
An ornament for any gentC
Who can find use for himB
It won't pay us to kill the cussD
But we can't afford his keepE
Who wants a nice white elephantA
We'll sell or lease him cheapE
-
Who wants a nice white elephantA
He'd make a lovely petF
In rich fat days we loved his wayG
But in these times of fretF
He's sort of grown too big for usD
To fondle groom and feedH
Who wants a fine white elephantA
Of most exclusive breedH
-
Who wants a nice white elephantA
Of noble lineage heI
His breed is by State JealousyI
Out of ProsperityI
The rich years thro' he grew and grewJ
And ah we loved him soK
But we can't afford his bed and boardL
And we'd like to let him goK
-
Who'll buy a nice white elephantA
No decent bid refusedM
We love him yet altho' our petF
Has often been abusedM
But come on gents walk up walk upN
Our funds alas are scantO
Altho' we once were sold a pupN
Who'll buy an elephantA
