Now 'ere's my tipA
Fer the Fusion shipA
An' I tells it straight an' squareB
I'm a rare old tarC
As nigh an' farC
You'll not meet ev'rywhereC
I've seen 'er sailD
In many a galeD
But she's done 'er final tripA
So I 'itches me breeches an' a simple tale I pitchesE
O' this good ole Fusion shipA
'Twas Alf an' JoeF
Long years agoF
They built 'er any 'owG
Twas a strange ole skiffH
With 'er keel skew wiffH
An' a double ended bowI
Yus a nose each endJ
An' a grecian bendJ
Amidships quaint an' queerC
When I seen 'er take the water 'Ho ' ses I 'she is a snorter 'K
An' I gives a 'earty cheerC
-
-
An' sail she didL
But I'l lay ten quidL
No ship befor enor sinceM
Done 'ark 'er tricksN
'Er darned ole fixN
'Ud make longshoremen winceM
She'd bob and bowI
The blamed old scowI
Like a wet an' foolish 'enO
An' 'er subsekint behav'er an' the effects fer to save 'erC
Was a treat fer sialor menO
-
An' Alf 'e wasP
'Er skipper 'cosP
No other could be gotQ
To sail that craftR
An' fore an' aftR
They was a rare ole lotQ
So queer a crewC
I never knewC
An' Joe 'e was fust mateS
An' to 'ear 'im scold and rate 'er when 'e tried to navigate 'erC
Well I tell yeh it was greatS
-
Fer some they saidT
To point 'er 'eadT
Fer nor' nor' east by eastT
Fer Tory BayU
An' some said 'Nay '-
An' the langwidge never easedT
An' some they pressedT
To sail doo westT
Fer the ole Freetection portT
An' the way she waltzed an' wobbled while they 'owled an' fought an' squabbledT
Ho I never seen sich sportT
-
An' poor ole JoeF
'Is watch belowF
Was mostly short an' sweetT
Fer 'e never knewC
Wot time that crewC
Might up an' change 'er beatT
But Alf the bossP
'E took 'is dossP
An' 'e let 'er sail or stopV
Fer in days when seas was finer 'e was skipper of a linerC
An' 'e sorter felt the dropV
-
Now she dropped at lastT
'Er anchor fastT
In the 'arbor of RecessP
'Er sheets is toreC
An' 'er plates is woreC
An' she'll sail no more I guessP
Alf got the pipA
On 'er final tripA
An' there's some as said 'e sworeC
'E was sickened of 'er capers so 'e 'anded in 'id papersP
An' she'll put to sea no moreC
But it's 'ip 'ip 'ipA
fer the Fusion shipA
Fer the navigatin' 'enC
Since 'er cruise begunC
She 'as give great funC
To us 'eart sailor menC
We 'ave cheered an' laughedT
An' joked an' chaffedT
Since the day she put to seaP
So I takes a pull and 'itches as our 'abit is my breechesP
An' I give 'er three times threeP
