The Expert Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGDGD HIHIJDJD KLKLMD D

Bill Oh him Well he's taken a knockA
Real sad when I spoke to him lastB
Sufferin' like from a nasty shockA
Just drivin' a wee bit fastB
Round a corner no chance to haltC
Skittles a kid on the roadD
An' they're tellin' him now it's all his faultC
'Case he didn't observe the CodeD
-
Code Wot Code Why Bill can driveE
An' they're tellin' him now he was rashF
It's his skill at the wheel kept him aliveE
And out of many a smashF
And now this luck Yes the youngster diedG
But the evidence plainly showedD
That Bill was fair on the proper sideG
What more could he do with the CodeD
-
Why I've seen Bill drive on just two wheelsH
Miss trees by a coat of paintI
An' now it's rotten the way he feelsH
Broke up when they made complaintI
Callin' him careless Careless HimJ
Why I've seen him motor a loadD
At eighty an hour an' the light all dimJ
He didn't learn that from a CodeD
-
But there you are One accident moreK
One more kid chancin' to roamL
Knocked stiff in sight of his own house doorK
One more grief stricken homeL
An' poor Bill eyes still fixed aheadM
On that small still form by the roadD
Sayin' over an' over 'He's dead He's dead '-
Well Maybe there is good in a CodeD
