The Bolshie Nurse Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDBEB FEGEHBE

He was a man of the union clanA
And a Labor secre taryB
He fell unwell and beneath the spellC
Of a little nurse named MaryB
Now Mary was no little lambD
And the tenets that he taught herB
They turned her head and she voted 'red'E
When the mad strike fever caught herB
-
Then he missed his gruel and he thought it cruelF
That he was so neglectedE
One winter morn and all forlornG
He rang and was neglectedE
And when she came she said 'My nameH
Is henceforth Trotsky MaryB
We've downed thermometers my friendE
You've won dear secre tary '-
