Omeo Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDDE FGFGHIHHI JKJKLCLLC DEDECACCC

Up and down the roads they goA
Vale to hill and hill to valeB
Leading on to OmeoC
Over many an olden trailB
Dainty lady of the hillsD
Rosy cheecked amid her snowsE
Beauty that her landscape fillsD
Tips the peak and downward spillsD
Down to where old Tambo flowsE
-
As Tambo winds so winds the roadF
Cascades sparkly by the wayG
Where o'er granite waters flowedF
Since some pre historic dayG
Limestone glints and marble gleamsH
Beautiful and many huedI
Bared by ever flowing streamsH
To recapture long lost dreamsH
Of an age old solitudeI
-
Six grey horses drew the coachJ
Climbing up and clattering downK
To the picturesque approachJ
Of this quaint old fashioned townK
While the driver yarned apaceL
Six grey horses coats agleamC
Straining steady at the traceL
Drew up at the stopping placeL
The Blue Duck Inn where anglers dreamC
-
Dainty lady of the hillsD
Rosy cheeked amid her snowsE
Peace her quiet hamlet fillsD
As full well the angler knowsE
Peace and quiet pride informC
All her moods as seasons goA
Summer sun nor winter stormC
Naught may change that welcome warmC
